The Damen Shipyards Group has successfully delivered a Shoalbuster 3209 vessel to Caspian Offshore Construction. Named the Caspian Lotus, this advanced vessel is set to play a pivotal role in supporting dredging projects across the Persian Gulf.
Key Features of the Caspian Lotus
Joining a fleet of over 50 vessels and barges, the Caspian Lotus boasts impressive capabilities, including:
- A shallow draft of just 3.3 meters
- An 80 m² deck space
- High crane capacity
- Robust propulsion systems
These features make it an ideal choice for demanding marine operations in the region.
Long-Term Collaboration with Damen Shipyards
Caspian Offshore Construction has been a valued client of Damen since 2006, when it acquired its first Damen vessel, a Fast Crew Supplier (FCS) 1605. Over the years, the company has expanded its collaboration with Damen, acquiring several Multi Cats (MuC) and FCS vessels, both as new builds and second-hand acquisitions.
Building a Presence in the Middle East
Initially focused on the Caspian Sea region, Caspian Offshore Construction expanded its operations to the Middle East three years ago. The company has since established a robust presence in the region with a fleet of 14 vessels and barges.
Strategic Advantages of Damen Vessels
“Today, fifty percent of our regional fleet consists of first-class Damen vessels. This strategic advantage, combined with our onshore infrastructure and skilled crews, has given us a competitive edge in securing and expanding our market niche in the region,” stated Aleksey Chirkin, General Manager for Caspian Offshore Construction Middle East DMCC.
Strengthening Maritime Support Services
With the addition of the Caspian Lotus, the company continues to reinforce its capabilities and commitment to delivering excellence in maritime support services. This addition underscores their dedication to expanding operations and maintaining a competitive edge in the Persian Gulf.
