Damen’s latest innovation, the first in their CSD600 cutter suction dredger series, has commenced operations in Indonesia. The dredger, named Jhoni 58, was transported from Rotterdam, Netherlands to Indonesia aboard a heavy lift carrier.
Jhoni 58 Commences Maintenance Dredging in Batulicin
The Jhoni 58 is now engaged in a maintenance dredging project at the Port of Batulicin on the island of Kalimantan. This port is pivotal due to its significant coal terminal, which sees numerous coal barge transports passing through its busy access channel. Continuous sedimentation in this channel necessitates the use of the CSD600 to maintain navigational depth. The advanced dredge pump on the CSD600 efficiently removes sediment, transporting it to a spoil field 500 meters away.

Commissioned on-site by Damen Field Service Engineers, the powerful cutter suction dredger features:

Innovative Control System for Enhanced Operations
The control system provides clear visual information to the dredge master, facilitating easy troubleshooting and monitoring of the dredge pump’s production and the status of various drive systems. Additionally, the system is designed for future expansions, allowing for the addition of modules such as cutter automation and dredge pump automation.
