Significant Milestone in NETZSCH 70-Year History

SELB, Germany – At the end of March, NETZSCH Pumps & Systems celebrated the grand opening of its new NOTOS® multi screw pump plant in Pomerode, Santa Catarina, Brazil.

Significant Milestone in NETZSCH’s 70-Year History

This new facility in the Ribeirão Souto district signifies a major milestone in NETZSCH’s 70-year legacy. Construction began in August 2021 and, despite numerous challenges, was completed in under three years.

Strategic Importance of the New NOTOS Multi Screw Pump Plant

The new plant features a 5,700 square meter industrial building, a 1,800 square meter administration building, and ample parking space. It is central to NETZSCH’s strategic goals, designed to produce and supply high-quality multi screw pumps for global markets, particularly for demanding applications. Additionally, it will boost production capacity for other product lines at the existing Pomerode site, including progressing cavity pumps, rotary lobe pumps, peristaltic pumps, and grinding systems. This expansion ensures customized and sophisticated pump solutions for a variety of applications.

Osvaldo Ferreira, Managing Director of NETZSCH do Brasil, states, “With the new NOTOS® multi screw pump plant, we will significantly enhance our production capacity in Brazil. Our customers can expect more powerful pumps and reduced delivery times in the future.”

Increased Capacity for Multi Screw Pumps

Currently, the plant produces multi screw pumps with capacities of up to 1,000 kilowatts. Future plans include expanding this capacity to 2,000 kilowatts. The demand for high-performance multi screw pumps is particularly strong in the oil and gas sector. “The NOTOS plant will be the global flagship for multi screw pump production within the entire NETZSCH Group, enabling us to enter new markets,” Ferreira proudly notes.

Sustainability and Efficiency at the New Plant

The plant in Brazil not only sets new standards in production capacity but also emphasizes sustainability and efficiency, aligning with NETZSCH’s green initiatives. The opening of the NOTOS plant benefits NETZSCH as well as the entire Pomerode area, creating nearly 90 new jobs in the region.

By strategically investing in this new facility, NETZSCH is poised to meet the increasing global demand for high-quality multi screw pumps, ensuring faster delivery times and superior pump performance. This expansion solidifies NETZSCH’s position as a leader in the pump manufacturing industry.
