Houston Port Expansion: Callan Marine

Galveston-based dredging powerhouse, Callan Marine, has clinched a lucrative $136 million contract from the Port of Houston Authority. The contract entails dredging segment 1C of the Houston Ship Channel Expansion, a pivotal project under Port Houston’s ambitious Project 11 initiative.

Utilizing their state-of-the-art 32-inch cutter suction dredge, the General Arnold, Callan Marine is poised to set new standards in efficiency and environmental responsibility. Equipped with four EPA Tier 4 engines generating 24,000 combined horsepower, the General Arnold employs cutting-edge exhaust gas re-circulation technology to minimize emissions, surpassing even sub-Tier 4 standards.

This milestone contract signifies the culmination of Project 11’s dredging operations under the Port of Houston Authority’s leadership.
