Elsewedy Industrial Development (SD), an ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC (EE) subsidiary, has partnered with Torishima Service Solutions to establish a center for assembling, manufacturing, supplying, and maintaining large water pumps for industrial and civil purposes.
Establishment of a Center for Large Water Pumps
As part of this collaboration, Torishima Service Solutions will invest up to USD 5 million to establish a state-of-the-art large pump service facility and a local spare parts industry. This facility will cater to the Egyptian market. This center will span an area of 30,000 square meters in the “Industria Sokhna” project.
Alister Flett, Managing Director of Torishima Service Solutions, said, “As a Japanese company, Torishima is confident that we can bring our technology, quality, and productivity to our new service center by training our Egyptian team on company values and traditions. The Egyptian service facility will occupy a key strategic location in our global network, bringing Torishima quality closer to our customers. We are thrilled about partnering with the Egyptian Government and our clients to take this significant step forward.”
Investment and Facility Details
The collaboration with the Torishima Group will also see the rehabilitation and optimization of motors and pumps owned by the Egyptian Government. These have been out of service for years in various industries. This step aims to reduce external spending, leverage Egyptian competencies, and reuse equipment that was previously considered a total waste. The center will be the largest in the region, addressing the growing demand for water and enhancing industrial and agricultural productivity.
