High-Pressure Pump for Biomass Power Plants

KSB Group has introduced a fresh variant of its HGM high-pressure pump.

Dubbed HGM-S, the new variant claims to be reliable and cost-effective. A notable highlight is the incorporation of internal, product-lubricated plain bearings that eliminate the need for external supply systems.

Reliability and Cost-Effectiveness

To enhance the operational smoothness of the pump, the designers employed small spacing of bearings, which lowers the vibration level of the pump, reducing the wear. The suction stage impeller and axial inlet have very low NPSH and good suction characteristics. The new pump set is very compact and space-saving with its axial inlet.

Compact and Space-Saving Design

The pump’s shaft is fortified by a user-friendly mechanical seal at the drive end, conveniently accessible from the exterior. This seal’s configuration and ingenious internal arrangement obviate the necessity for external piping in cooling and lubrication circuits. This approach simplifies spare parts management and servicing and contributes to the overall streamlined design.

The new pumps achieve a maximum flow rate of 390 cubic meters per hour and a maximum head of 1000 meters. Electric drive ratings span the spectrum from 10 kW to 1300 kW. Casings are meticulously crafted from steel or stainless steel, ensuring structural integrity and corrosion resistance. Every impeller, a critical component, is cast from high-quality stainless steel. These pumps come with a five-year warranty.
