Objectives and Priorities of the Funding
NOAA has announced transformational habitat restoration and coastal resilience grants of up to $240 million. This funding is available through the Biden-Harris Administration’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Inflation Reduction Act.
Eligibility Criteria and Proposal Requirements
This funding aims to support transformational habitat restoration projects that restore marine, estuarine, coastal, or Great Lakes ecosystems, using approaches that enhance community and ecosystem resilience to climate hazards. Funding will prioritize habitat restoration actions that demonstrate significant impacts, rebuild productive and sustainable fisheries, contribute to the recovery and conservation of threatened and endangered species, promote climate-resilient ecosystems, especially in tribal, indigenous, and/or underserved communities, and improve economic vitality, including local employment.
Proposals that are only between $1 million and $25 million will be accepted. Applications are due by November 17, 2023.
