Leask Marine Successfully Completes Debris Removal at Ardersier Port

Leask Marine has successfully completed debris removal operations at Ardersier Port in Scotland, setting the stage for its transformation into a fully operational commercial hub.

Leask Marine’s Role in Ardersier Port Redevelopment

Leask Marine played a key role in supporting Haventus, the owner of Ardersier Port, in their ambitious vision to revitalize the site.

“We were thrilled that Haventus entrusted our team to help bring their vision to life by preparing Ardersier Port for its return as a fully functioning commercial facility,” the company stated in its latest project update.

Summer 2024: A Season of Comprehensive Debris Removal

During the summer of 2024, Leask Marine executed an extensive UXO (unexploded ordnance) and debris clearance campaign. The operation utilized a range of specialized marine equipment, including vessels, barges fitted with excavators, hoppers, graders, and metal detectors, to ensure a thorough cleanup of the port area.

This meticulous effort cleared the way for a planned dredging campaign set to commence in 2025, ensuring safe and efficient future operations at the port.

Why Ardersier Port is a Strategic Asset

Haventus has emphasized the unique advantages of Ardersier Port as a prime location for commercial activities.

“With access via both sea and road to over 450 acres of operational space, an initial quay of more than 650 meters, and a naturally sheltered harbor, Ardersier Port offers exceptional opportunities for optimized and efficient operations,” Haventus said.

Preparing Ardersier Port for the Future

As Scotland’s commercial port infrastructure grows in importance, the redevelopment of Ardersier Port will help enhance regional maritime capabilities. The successful debris removal campaign by Leask Marine marks a critical milestone in preparing the port for future operations, making it a key asset for industries reliant on efficient marine logistics.
